Cinthia's account in FFXIV got hacked already, after just a few weeks of existence. She has a fairly new OS install and uses the virtual keyboard to enter password, so it's unlikely she was key logged. She logged in to the game and found her character moved and all her game gold gone. How does this happen already?

The following is a common email scam I receive. Since I don't have a World of Warcraft account I know this is a scam right away, but if I did have an account this might be fairly convincing. For those that do, this is a heads up.

Original Email Message: Hello,

"In preparation for the official release of FINAL FANTASY XIV on September 30, 2010 and the early release on September 22, we will be conducting an open beta test to help put the finishing touches on the game."

We recently finished our first ship and have had the chance to start exploring the vast Astral. What a great time we have had. The sector local to Kania is the easiest sector to explore, it's hubs (maps) have easier demons roaming around. We did attempt to explore another sector but got destroyed by a demon on the other side of the hub, maybe Noblehector can provide screen-shots if he wants.

We did it! We pooled our resources and have finally started our first ship. I want to thank Noblehector, Fluffy, and Cinthia for helping to pool the money together. Noblehector is the owner of this ship. Below you can see some screen-shots I took of the shipyard and the skeleton structure of the ship. Soon we will be exploring the vast oceans of the Astral seeking fame and glory!

Happened upon this guy today, Genoer the Devourer. He hits pretty hard, never seen a mob do damage in the millions before. Its kinda fun to see how much you can get him to do. These numbers don't lie, and yeah that is thousands of damage.

This is one of the NPCs from Allods, she is used for a couple things. As you can see she has had some work done. The developers didn't leave much to the imagination.

This is part one in a series of videos the producers of FFXIV plan to release demonstrating the game. The video commentary is in Japanese, but you can really get a feel for the aspects of the game they show. If you played FFXI you will recognize most of what is going on, it has a very familiar feel, but is new and better.

Here is an interesting read found over at MMORPG.com. Whats really neat is the picture of the UI near the top, it shows a very clean simple UI, looks nice. Also the article discusses the battle system of the game, in which they mention that distance plays a big factor in damage dealt.
